Important Information for Accident Victims

Answers to some questions about injury claims appear below. You probably have questions about your case. An attorney at our firm can answer your questions and discuss what we can do to help you get the resources you need to rebuild your life.

What should I do after an accident?

If you are injured, you should obtain medical care immediately and follow your doctor's instructions. You should also notify your insurance company, but do not make any statement to an adjuster about how the accident happened. You should also talk with an experienced personal injury lawyer as soon as possible.

How long do I have to bring a claim?

This varies on a case by case basis. If the accident was caused by the negligence of a municipal, county or state government for example, you must file notice of your claim within six months of the accident. Whatever the circumstances of your case however, you should obtain legal advice as soon as possible. Without prompt action, relevant evidence in your case can begin to disappear quickly.

Who will pay my medical bills?

The Venardi Law Firm places a priority on helping our injured clients obtain all of the medical care they need to recover to the fullest extent possible. If necessary, we can help you find a doctor who will provide treatment, to be paid for from the award you receive. We can also contact your medical providers to inform them that a suit is in process, and that they should refer all communications regarding payment of medical bills to our office.

What types of damages can I claim?

These vary according to the type of case and your particular circumstances. Damages could include medical costs, property damage, lost income, and compensation for pain and suffering, emotional distress and other non-economic losses. In every case, our firm seeks full are complete compensation for all losses.

How long does the legal process take?

Again, this varies on a case-by-case basis. Generally speaking, our firm waits until the client has reached the point of maximum medical recovery. This ensures that we do not leave any money on the table. During that time, we will work diligently to build a strong case designed to obtain maximum compensation for you.

What fees does your firm charge?

The Venardi Law Firm takes personal injury cases on a contingency basis. You will owe an attorney fee only if we obtain compensation for you.
